4080

St Paco, found this on the Complex web site. It is about ol rapp mags that have died over the years. Since, I was a rapp fan from 79-91ish, I decided to investigate browsed around a few and instantly laid eyes on the cover of 4080. I have forgotten about 4080, since my graffiti paraphernalia from 1994 and below was collected by Americas finest. I instantly remembered this cover, since I was present that day in San Fransisco, and the iconic photo of the Police car that was vandalised and was plastered in all sort of magazines. That was the nail in the coffin for "Market street yard." After a few glances of random covers and I went back to the 4080 section and then I had an "Oh shit moment" and realised my car was in the back ground with a 594 sticker on the front wind screen! I think the person standing next to my car on the driver side is me. Tonight I will go through my archives and post What I have from that day.

Behind The Post Office

I painted this Petty pinup girl in 1997 at a store called "Behind The Post Office." It was located down town San Diego and was a meeting place for hip hoppers and the cool people (hipsters nowadays) Quasar was hanging out with me, along with a few others that I can't remember.... through out the day while I was painting the pinup, "Q" noticed a dude on a bike checking me out while I was painting, Quasar mentioned this a few times like.... "YO! whose that dude Yo! He's like studying you, Yo!" (Quasar...said "yo" a lot) He kept on leaving and coming back, He never once came over. Some how, Quasar recognized him and it turned out to be "loomit" from Germany.

2 hype

I Painted this skull in between Me and Daze's pieces, I have no idea what I painted next to the skull. From the look of things it was a UGA re-union production painted in 1991 down at the old Euclid ave yard.

Purple 1997

An aerosol painting I did of "Nas" in 1997...its around 36" x 36" I wished I left out both highlights on the jaw and didn't sign my name in a God-awful way !
That's what I get for trying to be "Next Level."

Aug 1993

15 years ago this month, I was featured in the Source magazine.  This is the first time they had box cars featured in the Source.  At the time painting on box cars was slowly starting to catch on. The trend exploded around the mid to late 90's.  Although, I painted my first box car in 1985  and continued to do so off and on before my major arrest in 1994. I never quite caught the bug to paint them as consistently as I did with walls or even considered it serious. It felt like a poor mans subway car. I never felt that I could have the same satisfaction as I would if it was a subway car in NYC, maybe that's why, I never seek them out intentionally, It was mostly using scrap paint after finishing a burner near a wall that happened to have trains near by.

I painted this in 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with Giant, Vez, Sofa, Went and Calgon. After sending the photos to Mr. Wiggles, he personally went to the source and gave the flicks to Chino.
