15 years ago this month, I was featured in the Source magazine. This is the first time they had box cars featured in the Source. At the time painting on box cars was slowly starting to catch on. The trend exploded around the mid to late 90's. Although, I painted my first box car in 1985 and continued to do so off and on before my major arrest in 1994. I never quite caught the bug to paint them as consistently as I did with walls or even considered it serious. It felt like a poor mans subway car. I never felt that I could have the same satisfaction as I would if it was a subway car in NYC, maybe that's why, I never seek them out intentionally, It was mostly using scrap paint after finishing a burner near a wall that happened to have trains near by.
I painted this in 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with Giant, Vez, Sofa, Went and Calgon. After sending the photos to Mr. Wiggles, he personally went to the source and gave the flicks to Chino.
