Nazi beats.
In 1993 during my lunch break I went to a local thrift store in Casa De Oro to look for some B-Beats and Found this set of ephemera inside a box set of 78 records from the 1930's. As a rule, I usually look inside the covers of older records because you can find some interesting stuff in them photos, drawings etc.

My last encounter with Nazi material was recently at a "mom and pop" type of thrift store that is located in Chula Vista, CA. I was going through a stack of old post cards and photos and came across a cool photo and turned it over and right on the back was a swastika, stamp and some other German words and markings, obviously it was from WW2. Like a dummy, I told the lady hey, check this out!!! She took at it and held om to it. I should of paid my 75.cents and went out the door.

Back
Well, I'm back from Omaha, Nebraska! And it was one hell of a trip! here's a quick rundown, Found some great thrift stores and antique malls, saw the beginning's of EF5 tornado, found a record store with the most records I have ever seen in one place, ran 2 red lights, seen a shirtless mullet beast, had the best ice cream ever, ran from the law, saved a woman's life from her husband, climbed on the biggest steam engine train ever built, went to a gallery to get a show, check out a killer art deco train station and happened to be on time for a wedding!
To be continued

Found these for a buck a piece, I believe they are form the 50's. In the box with the mask was a photo of three girls wearing the same exact masks, minus the cat mask I'm barely wearing. I should of purchased the photo too but was on a budget and wasn't to sure if it was for sale. No luck on paper mache pumpkins or any other vintage Halloween gadgets.

Man, I love a good thrift store, antique mall and a flea market! You can usually find me in one, especially, When I have an upcoming art show. I'm always on the hunt for frames, vintage children's books, dolls, ephemera, photos and other reference materials that catch my eye and might spark some creative response. I have been researching for my up coming show and have been buying frames for it for almost a year. I still need about 5 frames left for the show. So I'm in the field 4 days out of the week, searching and looking for that perfect frame. Once in awhile I will come across some great items like an old Halloween lantern from the 40's. I got lucky the other day when I came across this 1959 "The visible man" for only $10 what a deal!!! They usually go for around $60 .... its not like its rare or the holy grail.... I just always wanted one I think they are freaking cool! I'm also on the hunt for The visible woman, Horse, dog and skull.
Now I just have to put it together.

Now I just have to put it together.

Box and all, Miles not included.

Has all the parts! Only major issue was the broken foot
Epoxy did the trick and it just like new!

It had a few dirt marks and glue on the body... goof off cleaned it up nicely!

It had some tape on the bones, but that was easy to clean.
